The Salem Chamber of Commerce will honor the Community Service Persons of the Year, the Business Person of the Year and the Fulton County Farm Family of the Year at the Annual Awards Banquet Nov. 2. The banquet will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Hickinbotham-Miller Building at the Fulton County Fairgrounds.
Jerry Estes will receive the Community Service Award. Debbie Mefford of White Oak Station will be the recipient of the Business Award.
Estes is member service manager at North Arkansas Electric Cooperative and is involved in numerous community activities and events in the area. He is chairman of the Mark Thomas Apple Pie 5-K Race at the Fulton County Homecoming Festival.
Mefford is manager of White Oak Station in Salem and has served in several positions with the company during her 20 years of employment. She has held the position of district food coordinator and has helped train employees and open several new stores in Arkansas and Missouri.
The banquet will also honor the 2006 Fulton County Farm Family of the Year, Kenny and Lora Crawford and Larry and Anna Beth LaRue of Rocky Top Farms.
Tickets are now on sale at North Arkansas Electric Cooperative, Bank of Salem, First National Banking Company and the County Clerk's Office in the Fulton County Courthouse.
