Mary Louise Ferguson, of Oxford, Ark., daughter of the late O.A. Fulbright and Mary Ernestine Saffell Fulbright was born on June 7, 1929, in Barren Fork, Ark. She died Aug. 10, 2007, at her home in Oxford, at the age of 78.

She was united in marriage to Coy Derrell Ferguson on Oct. 31, 1947, in Dover, Ark. To this union three children were born.

She was a school teacher, teaching home economics and science at Oxford, and Violet Hill Schools and fourth grade at Salem School.

She was the Fulton County Home Economist from 1966 to 1989.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Oxford.

Survivors include: her children, Mary Ladonna McBride, of Oxford, James Wesley Ferguson of Franklin, and Leesa Lynn Boone and husband, Robert of Mountain View; her grandchildren, William Derrell McBride and wife Melissa Jeanette of Oxford, and Lagena Louise McBride of Oxford; her great-grandchildren, Landon Coy McBride and Megan Elizabeth McBride; two sisters LaNeil Gephart and husband Roger of Derby,?Kan., and Myrl Thrash and husband, Pennix of Hope, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband and her father and mother.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 13 at the Oxford Methodist/Presbyterian Church with burial following in the Oxford Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
