AREA -- The Thayer/Mammoth Spring Ministerial Alliance will hold a Community Easter Service April 4 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Thayer.
Featured pastors will be: Ron Richardson, Hospice representative and chaplin director for Ozarks Medical Center; David Scott, St. Paul United Methodist Church of Thayer; David Dunigan, Corner Stone Church of Thayer; Wayne Hurst, Stateline Pentecostal Church of Mammoth Spring; Paul Skinner, First United Methodist Church of Mammoth Spring and Camp; and Abel Perez, First Assembly of God in Thayer. All pastors are from member churches of the Ministerial Alliance.
A spokesperson for the pastors said the service will include inspiring worship, special music and community fellowship.
Other churches involved in the service include the Thayer First Baptist Church, the Thayer Free Will Baptist Church, Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Thayer and the New Life Church in Thayer.
According to St. Paul United Methodist Church Pastor David Scott, the Ministerial Alliance is a group of churches working together to alleviate hunger, homelessness and hopelessness in the area.
"We address many needs such as emergency food assistance, help with utility and propane bills, gasoline assistance and transient help," Scott said.
The Ministerial Alliance is a non profit, multi-denominational group.
"We work in conjunction with local food pantries, the Salvation Army, local churches, businesses and individuals to accomplish the goal of helping those in need," he said.
Scott said the Ministerial Alliance is funded by donations from local businesses, individuals and special collections from area churches. It is not state or federally funded and has no paid employees.
