OREGON COUNTY -- The Missouri Housing Development Commission announced last week that it has approved the allocation of $2 million for not-for-profit agencies.
Ozark Action, which serves Oregon, Howell, Douglas, Ozark, Texas and Wright counties in southern Missouri, was allocated $150,000.
All of the funds given were to agencies in rural areas.
In all, 171 applications were received by the commission and 103 of those requests were approved.
The funds will be used by Ozark Action to help fund affordable housing for low-income families in the six-county Ozark Action area. The funds can also be used for rent assistance, homeless prevention, special needs housing and home repair.
