Ed Crotts, 80, of Washington, Ill., died Dec. 1, 2006, at his residence. He was born on March 14, 1926, in Viola, Ark., the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Melinda Spurlock Crotts.
He was a devoted husband to Vera Vivian Johnston, whom he married on Oct. 11, 1950. She survives.
He worked as a machine repairman at Caterpillar Tractor Co., for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II
He also was a member of Faith Christian Centre in Washington, Ill., and enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening. He will be greatly missed.
He was a devoted father and is survived by his wife; three sons, Keith Crotts of Rushville and Dale (Laura) Crotts and Gary Crotts, both of Washington; one daughter, Julie Crotts of Washington, Ill.; and three sisters, Dorothy Roberts of Viola, Della Minge of Bakersfield, Mo., and Drucilla (Mike) Tiliakos of Lakeland, Fla. Crotts had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Peggy and three brothers.
The funeral services were held Dec. 5 at Faith Christian Centre in Washington. Pastor Rick Brisbin officiated.
Burial followed in the Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton, Ill.
Arrangements were under the direction of Delters Funeral Home of Washington, Ill.
