2 deputies resign

Thursday, November 16, 2006

Two days after Fulton County Sheriff Walter Dillinger was reelected to his office on Nov. 7, he released two department employees.

Jailer John Davis of Camp and Fulton County Deputy Kevin Burns of Camp were asked for their resignations on Nov. 9.

Davis said there was little explanation as to why he was released from his position. "Deputy (Terry) Walker just told me I was no longer needed," said Davis. "I really don't know why."

Dillinger would not comment regarding his decision to ask for either Davis' or Burns' resignations.

Burns said he was unable to comment regarding the circumstances surrounding his resignation under the advice of an attorney.
