Marie Louise Marlin of Salem, daughter of the late Madison Bathis and Maggie Lee (Combs) Roe, was born June 10, 1927, in Kansas City, Mo. She died Sept. 26, 2006, at her home in Salem at the age of 79.
She was united in marriage to Leroy Marlin July 17, 1948, at Viola. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked as a secretary for Wal Mart in Bentonville, Ark. She was a member of the Salem Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, Roger Marlin and wife Ginny of North Little Rock; two daughters, Judy Barker and husband Gary of Salem, and Anita Matthews of Little Rock; a brother, Billy Jack Roe and wife Jean of Trimble, Mo.; two sisters, Lucile Hatman of Salem, and Nadine Hester and husband Ray of Huntsville, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Jeaniece Roe of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren, Neil Barker, LeAnne Hudson and husband Josh, Stephanie White and husband Michael, Greg Matthews, Matthew Marlin, Jessamy Havens and husband Wes, and Jason Logan; six great-grandchildren, Madison and Elijah Hudson, Kennedy and Brook Barker, and Selah and Harper Havens; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Raymond Roe and brother-in-law Clifton Hatman.
Funeral services were held Sept. 29 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Bro. Mike Yates officiating. Interment was in the Bentonville City Cemetery, Bentonville, Ark., under the direction of Barker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Neil Barker, Greg Matthews, Matthew Marlin, Josh Hudson, Wes Havens, Michael White and Jason Logan.
