Beauty pageant seminar set

Thursday, July 13, 2006

Zeta Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will sponsor a seminar for girls interested in entering the county fair beauty pageants on July 24 at the Hickinbotham-Miller Building at the Fulton County Fairgrounds. The first part of the seminar is for girls age 12-15 and will be held at 6 p.m. The second session, for girls age 16-21, will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Leslie Scribner, a judge for Miss Teen Arkansas Preliminaries, will conduct the seminars. Scribner has 15 years of pageant competition and judging experience and is a graduate of Arkansas State University. She competed in the Miss Arkansas Pageant as Miss Ozark Highlands in 2001.

The seminar will cover proper state presence, pageant application tips, on-stage interview/question, eveningwear modeling and coronation etiquette. Swimwear competition and formal interview tips will also be covered for the district and state competitions. Girls should bring evening wear shoes for modeling practice.

Judy Oliver, president of Beta Sigma Phi, encourages all girls who plan to enter the Young Miss and Miss Fulton County pageants at the Fulton County Fair to attend this seminar.

Entry forms for the pageants will be available at the seminar or online at www.fultoncountyfair.org. For more information call 895-2491 or e-mail clewis@fultoncountyfair.org.
