Lucy Belle Cook, 91, of Cherokee Village, formerly of Lawrence County, Ark., died April 14, 2007, at Ash Flat.
She and her husband moved to Arizona after her retirement as a California state employee. She moved to Arkansas in 1973, and lived in the Hoxie and Portia areas until his death in 1985. Mrs. Cook moved to Cherokee Village nine years ago. She had been a licensed minister for more than 25 years and was a member of the Highland Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include: five daughters, Sherl Cook of the home; Janet Nixon, Modesto, Calif., Stella Davis, Cherokee Village, Mary Cook of the home and Adele Lambert, Ash Flat; four sons, Frank Cook, Redmond, Oregon, Leonard Cook, Harker Heights, Texas, Stan Cook, Anaheim, Calif., and Gene Cook, Cherokee Village; 23 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Lee Roy Porter Cook; a daughter, Margie Louise; four sisters; a brother; and two grandsons, Richard Dean Oden and David Russell Oden.
Services were held April 26 at?the House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Glenn Chadwick officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrence Memorial Park with arrangements under the direction of the House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
Pallbearers were Dennis Steen, Patrick Steen, Les Lambert, Willard McCollum, Bill Hilburn and Calvin Parker.
Honorary pallbearers were Joni Oden, Gene Davis, Jim Davis, Bobby Nixon, Gary Davis, Gene Cook,?Jr., Billy Stevens, Brian Nixon, Stan Cook, Jr., Kenny Davis, Rusty Stevens, Tony Cook and Michael Cook.
