Chuck Dennis, age 63, of Horseshoe Bend died July 29, 2006, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1942, the son of Charles and Pauline Czerwinski Dennis in Chicago, Ill.
He was a retired police officer, a member of the men's golf league at Turkey Mountain, in the Boating and Fishing Club, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Dennis of the home; four sons, Scott Dennis of Chicago, Michael Dennis of Chicago, Joe Hall of Darien, Ill., and Rick Borus of Springfield, Ill.; four daughters, Cori Thomlin of Auburn, Calif., Jenn Borus of Vallejo, Calif., Dawn Nobel of Pinellas, Fla., and Kim Harris of Springfield, Ill.; two sisters, Charlene Longman of Caledonia, Mich., and Patricia Savage of Bolingbrook, Ill., his aunt, Ida Dennis of Mountain Home; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral mass was held Aug. 2 at St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend, with Father Venantius Preske officiating. Entombment followed in the Baxter Memorial Gardens in Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
