Funeral services for Hazel Jean "Haze" Pemberton, 82, of Searcy, were held Sept. 6 at the Osceola Church of Christ.
Haze, as she was know to her loved ones, died Sept. 2, 2006, at the White County Medical Center.
She was born in Salem Nov. 18, 1923, the daughter of Fred and Maye Hall Bingham. She was a mother, grandmother and a retired school teacher. She was a first-grade teacher in the Osceola School District for more than 30 years. Before that, she taught secondary education and was a girls basketball coach at Salem before moving to Osceola. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Ashley Janine Harrington of Searcy; a son-in-law, Larry Harrington, wife Susan, and sons Hunter and Benjamin, all of Searcy; her extended family, Randy Hogan and wife Joyce, son Cameron, daughter Christina Haney, son-in-law, Mark Haney and granddaughter, Madison Haney, all of Helena-West Helena; Mike Hogan and his wife Elaine of Bismark, Mo., and a host of friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa Pemberton Harrington of Osceola; a brother, Clyde Bingham and his wife Dorothy of Salem; and her parents, Fred and Maye Bingham of Salem.
The funeral service was officiated by Bro. Van Tate of Searcy. Burial followed in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
Pallbearers were David Gladden, Charles Harrington, Hunter Harrington, Cameron Hogan, Dickie Kennemore, Benjamin Smith and Bruce Young.
Honorary pallbearers were Marvin Farley, Dennis Goings, John Julian, Glenn Oakes, Carroll Smith and Steve Smith.
