Lonnie Joe "Red" Rackley, age 60, of Thayer, Mo., was born Nov. 19, 1946, in Oregon County, Mo.

He died Nov. 22, 2006, at his home.

Rackley was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. He graduated from Alton High School in 1964

He served four years with the United States Navy serving in Vietnam.

He was employed for several years on the railroad and also did asphalt work.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; his mother, Lucy Rackley; one son, Mathew Spurbanks; one stepson, Michael Bala; two sisters, Sandy Elder and Carla Montgomery; two nieces, Shelia Puccetti and husband Robbie, and Robin Eberts and husband Dale; two nephews Vince Elder and wife Brenda, and Bevin Seward; and a special friend, Terri Kohler; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Rackley; and a brother, Roy Rackley.

The funeral services were held on Nov. 24 in the Clary Chapel in Alton with Bro. Grover Pingleton officiating.

Interment followed in the Cave Springs Cemetery with the funeral arrangements being made under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton.
