Charles Keith Hackworth was born March 27, 1940, at Couch, Mo., the son of Charles Lee "Happy" Hackworth and Joie Imogene (Harper) Hackworth. He died March 6, 2008, at Birch Tree, Mo. at the age of 67.
He attended Couch Elementary School and graduated from Doniphan High School.
He was enlisted in the United States Navy on Oct. 7, 1959, and was stationed at Rota, Spain.
He became an ordained minister in 1974 and pastored several churches in the area. He was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church.
He was united in marriage to his lifelong friend Vicki Frank on Sept. 30, 1962, at the Oak Grove Church of God in Doniphan, Mo., and to this union four sons were born.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Happy and Joie Hackworth; his grandparents, Fred and Maude Harper and Polly Hackworth.
He is survived by: four sons, Joe Hackworth of West Plains, Mo., Ed Hackworth of Birch Tree, Mo., Allen Hackworth and wife Leslye Switzer of West Plains, and Jerry Hackworth of West Plains; five grandchildren, Amanda Hackworth, Luke Hackworth, Jacob Hackworth, Joshua Hackworth and Cameron Crockarell; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services were held Monday, March 10, at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Birch Tree, Mo., with Charlie Pelate officiating. Interment was in New Salem Cemetery at Couch, Mo., under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Birch Tree.
