Arthur "Art" Norbert Yanke, 89, of Cherokee Village died April 4, 2006
He left his loving wife, Alice Walz Yanke; and his children, son Wayne and Arlene Yanke of Arkansas; two daughters Brenda and Jerry Holfert of Arkansas and Sharon and John Dressel of Wisconsin; granddaughters, Debbi, Kelly, Heidi, Beth, Kim and Darice; grandsons Darryl and Kevin; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brett.
Art was a lieutenant in the Milwaukee, Wis., Fire Department. He was a member of the American Legion, Cherokee Village Lions Club Cherokee Village, Men's Golf Association until age 87, honorary member of Spring River Sportsman's Club, and trustee and elder of Peace Lutheran Church He also served in the Army.
Services were held April 8 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village with Rev. Brian Pummill officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Heath Oak Hill Chapel of Hardy.
