Bertha Mae Williams, 94, of Alton, Mo., was born March 30, 1912, and died April 1, 2006.
She was a charter member of the Alton Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Doyle Williams and wife, Onie, of Alton, Mo.; four grandchildren, Claud Williams and wife, Debbie, of Alton, Dennis Williams and wife, Connie, of West Plains, Mo., Neta Brewer and husband Roger of Couch, Mo., and Sidney Williams and wife, Tammy of Alton; three sisters, Olla Barger of Astoria, Oregon, Violet Ebersole of South Bend, Ind., and Ruby Norton of Winona, Mo.; two brothers, Lester Earls of Gaffney, N.C., and Glen Earls of California; six great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Ollie Strain Earls; her husband, Elgin Williams; and four brothers.
The funeral services were held on April 4 at the Alton Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Thompson and Bro. Charles Trantham officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton.
