MSU-WP volleyball tickets on sale; basketball to follow

Area residents who want to catch all of the home-court action of the Missouri State University-West Plains Lady Grizzly volleyball team this season will have the opportunity to reserve their seats.

Members of the Grizzly Booster Club will soon begin receiving their season tickets to the eight Lady Grizzly home volleyball matches and tournaments scheduled this year.

Area residents who held season tickets for the 2005 volleyball season will be able to purchase tickets for the 2006 season now through Sept. 5 from the Drago College Store during regular store hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

The general public may begin buying season tickets for the volleyball matches on Sept. 7.

Season tickets will cost $31 per season ticket booklet for Lady Grizzlies matches.

Grizzly basketball devotees can purchase their tickets in October.

Area residents who held season tickets for the 2005-06 basketball season will be able to purchase tickets for the 2006-07 season beginning Oct. 9 at Drago College Store.

Basketball season tickets will be offered for sale to the general public on Oct. 23.

Season tickets will cost $95 per season ticket booklet for Grizzly games.

The Lady Grizzlies will kick off their home season at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 when they take on the Mineral Area College Lady Cardinals at the West Plains Civic Center in a match sponsored by Garnett Wood Products.

"We have a really great team. They will be fun to watch," Lady Grizzly Head Coach Trish Kissiar-Knight said. "We have just the right combination of players. They are very skilled, very athletic and should provide a lot of excitement for our fans."

The Grizzly basketball team will tip off its season at home Nov. 2-4 with the Ozarks Medical Center Tip-Off Tournament. In addition to the Grizzlies, featured teams will be Technical Career Institute of New York, University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, and Gulf Coast Community College of Florida.

Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Brian Ostermann said, "Our kids are hungry to return to the region championship series and, this time, bring home the trophy. We have some great teams coming to West Plains during the 2006-07 season, so be sure you have one of the best seats in the house. Also, don't forget to mark down Nov. 2-4, as we host the Ozarks Medical Center Tip-Off Tournament and welcome the defending national champions, University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, to town."
