The public is invited to the 6th Annual Arts Fair Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ozarka College in Ash Flat.
The purpose of the arts fair is to give the public the opportunity to meet and talk to area artists, writers and musicians.
A new feature this year will be a place for kids to learn about art. An exhibit of K-6 students from the Salem schools will be displayed. A hands-on art area is planned with an instructor to help kids create masterpieces while parents browse to view art and talk with authors.
Exhibiting artists will display works in oil, watercolor, pencil, fiber art and other mixed media. They are from the areas of Jonesboro, Smithville, Mammoth Spring and Horseshoe Bend as well as artists from the Spring River Art Gallery in Hardy.
Authors with new books to sign and talk about are from the Batesville, Pocahontas, Evening Shade and Cherokee Village area. A mixture of fiction and nonfiction will be offered.
Music will resonate through the building when musicians perform on stage in the auditorium during fair hours. "Randy and Sandy" are returning this year and several soloists are on the schedule.
