Mammoth Spring gears up for Solemn Old Judge Day

MAMMOTH SPRING -- A full day of activities is scheduled for this year's Solemn Ole Judge Day Sept. 2 in Mammoth Spring.

Mammoth Spring Chamber of Commerce President Jennifer Crowe said music will highlight the day.

"Live music will be performed throughout the day at Brown's Cars parking lot," Crowe said.

Music will begin at 9 a.m. with the Hurricane Creek Band. They will play until 11 a.m. A Little Country Band will be at Brown's from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Live music will also be at the gazebo at the mini park downtown. The Killin' Time Band will play at the gazebo from 10 a.m. to noon, and Bill Yarberry will play from noon to 2 p.m.

The Wisdoms will be performing at The Mammoth Spring Country Music Theater on Main Street from noon to 2 p.m.

The musical highlight of the day will be the Pake McEntire Show at Wood's Park across from the Mammoth Spring Fire Station at 6 p.m. Tickets for the show are $7 in advance and $10 at the door

Other activities during the day will be the 23rd annual Classic Car Show at Mammoth Spring State Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fee to enter a car in the car show is $15. Admission to the car show is free.

The Southfork Regulators will present two gunfights on Main Street at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

An antique show will be at Simmons First Bank from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Mammoth Spring Square Dance Club will perform at Brown's car lot at 11 a.m. Admission to the antiques show is free.

Mustang Amusements will be set up for the children from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
