The 2006 Tommy Bolt Classic is scheduled for June 24 in Cherokee Village.
The annual charity golf tournament that bears the name of the World Golf Hall of Fame member Bolt benefits Fountain Place, a Christian retirement center located in Cherokee Village.
In addition to his place in the hall of Fame, Bolt also captured the 1958 U.S. Open championship.
Widely know as "Thunderbolt," Bolt endorses his usual appearance fee back to Fountain Place each year, becoming the tournament's major benefactor.
Repeating as a $3,000 Gold sponsor for the third year is American Land Company. FNBC joins the major sponsor list by providing golf prizes with a value of over $1,500.
Repeating Hole-In-One sponsors are Conley Ford, along with MidLake Marine. Pap Beardsley Buick-Dodge-Jeep joins the $1,000-plus level this year.
Liberty Bank and Baxter Regional Medical are $1,000 Bronze sponsors this year. Many other team and hole sponsors make the event an anticipated event, according to event organizers.
Potential team representatives are urged to submit their registration forms as soon as possible, since the tournament already has had an immediate response to the original announcement in March.
Event organizers said if registration continues at the present pace, cutoff may occur prior to the announced June 16 date. Should early cutoff happen, a waiting list will be maintained.
Entry registration forms are still available by contacting David Webb, Cherokee Village Golf Shop at 257-5555, Fountain Place at 257-2000, or Oral Henderson, tournament chairperson at 257-2452.
