Libraries plan open houses

Thursday, December 7, 2006

OREGON COUNTY -- The Oregon County Library District will host five open house celebrations during the week of Dec. 11-16.

According to Oregon County Library District Director Judy Wright, the library district will use these celebrations to introduce library patrons to information about the new automation system at the local libraries.

"This will also be a time to sign up for the Oregon County Library District patron card. The librarian at each library in the county will update the patrons card with information such as addresses and phone numbers and issue a new card to each patron over the age of 6," Wright said.

The open house celebrations are:

Alton -- Dec. 14 and 15, 9 30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Koshkonong -- Dec. 13 and 15, 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Myrtle -- Dec. 12-13, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Thayer -- Dec. 11-12, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Thomasville -- Dec. 12-13, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

"The librarian at each library can give more information to patrons regarding the new automation system or signing up for a library card or returning overdue library material," Wright said.

She said the celebrations are subject to change due to the weather or other related emergencies and patrons should contact their local library for rescheduling.
