Elwood A. Snowden, 92, of Ash Flat died April 1, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1914, to Bink and Alice Hoagland Snowden at LeMoore, Calif.
He was an oil field machinist for many years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Club in Taft, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Leota Snowden of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Elwood Jr. and Lynn Showden of Taft, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Jim Westmoreland of Horseshoe Bend, and Linda and Jim Vowles of Gainesville, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Thelma Clark.
The funeral services were held April 6 at 2 p.m. at the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leonard Smith officiating.
Interment followed in the Evening Shadows Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
Pallbearers were Shawn Yount, Joe Yount, Larry Beckman, Jeff Snowden, Jeffrey Snowden and Roger Smith.
