Dolores Jan Pendarvis was born the daughter of Ralph and Lurene Diles McGhee, Jan. 5, 1947 in Thayer, Mo.

She died Oct. 5, 2006, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., at the age of 59.

She was united in marriage to Joey Pendarvis on Feb. 16, 1969.

She was a graduate of Crowley's Ridge Junior College in Paragould, Ark., and a graduate of Harding University College in Searcy, Ark. with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She was an educator, teaching in Williford, Couch, Thayer and Mammoth Spring School Districts, teaching for a total of 25 years.

She was a member of the 20th Century Club and the Thayer Church of Christ.

She was a devoted, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister and will be sadly missed by all.

Survivors include her husband, Joey of the family home; three children, Jolie Washam and husband, Bradley of Mammoth Spring, Ark., Julie Rich and husband, Larry of Jonesboro, Ark., and Jody Pendarvis and wife, Andrea of Huntsville, Ark.; five granddaughters, Jaden Rich, Halle Rich, Carley Rich, Ava Pendarvis and Brynn Washam; her mother, Lurene McGhee of Thayer, Mo.; one sister, Sharon Hedden and husband, Marvin of Thayer, Mo.; her mother-in-law, Trecie Pendarvis of Mammoth Spring; two sisters-in-law, Carol Johnson and husband, Don, and Kathryn Pendarvis; one brother-in-law, Willis Pendarvis; four nieces; three nephews and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph McGhee and her father-in-law, Joddie Pendarvis.

The funeral services were held Oct. 7 at the Mammoth Spring Multi-Purpose Building at Mammoth Spring School with Jimmy Young officiating. Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Mo. Arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer, Mo.

Activities pallbearers were Dr. Tim Young, Larry Grimes, David Baldridge, Lloyd Young, Wayne Smith and Powell Humphreys.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob Diles, Bud Diles, Bill Diles, Dale Washam, Kevin Hedden, Jeremy Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Eugene Washam.

A scholarship fund in her memory has been established at Simmons Bank in Mammoth Spring.
