James "Jimmy" Udale Prince, son of the late William Riley Prince and Delphia Marie Osborne Prince, was born July 27, 1949, in Mann, W. Va., and died Dec. 13, 2003, in Thayer, Mo., at the age of 54 years.
He was united in marriage in 1966, in St. Charles, Ill, to Cathy Gene Huckabee. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. He worked at Southwest in West Plains for several years as a welder. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Gene Huckabee Prince of the home in Thayer; eight children -- Tony Prince and wife, Carol of Alton, James U. Prince Jr. and friend, Vicki, of Thayer, Jeffrey Prince and wife, Rachel, of Koshkonong, Wendy Loyd and husband, Jim, of Couch, Mo., Mike Prince of Thayer, Joey Prince and wife, Cindy, of Koshkonong, William Riley Prince of Thayer, and Patrick Prince of Thayer; 11 siblings -- Billy Ray Prince "Duke," Arnold Prince "Paddles," Donald Prince "Bimbo," Mary M. Hickman, Andrew Prince "Andy," Sharon K. Isom, William Prince "Sambo," David Michael Prince, Dovie Canterbury, Craig Randell Prince and Virginia "Prince" Parnell; nine grandchildren -- Teagan, Ashley and Rebecca Prince, Sabrina and Nicholas Prince, Donnie and Zackery Loyd, Haleigh Prince and Montana Prince.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Krystal Prince; and a sister, Leslie Carol Waugh "Sissy."
The funeral was Dec. 16 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, with the Rev. Bud Adams officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Thayer with arrangements by Carter Funeral Home Inc.
Military rites were presented by Missouri Military Honors Program, West Plains Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were A. Dean Campbell, Dave King, Garrel Rogers, Carl King, Mark Huckabee and Jeff Lambert.
