Earnest Leroy Billingsley, 61, of Koshkonong, Mo., was born May 21, 1944, in Walcott, Ark., the son of the late Earnest G. Billingsley and Mammie L. Bussle. He died July 24, 2005, in Fryatt, Ark. He was united in marriage Oct. 2, 1964, in Lonoke, Ark., to Joan Douglas. He was a ranch foreman for Ralph, J.C. and Paul Brewer for many years and was also employed by Russell Heating and Air.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was of the Protestant faith. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was always putting his family first. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Joan of Koshkonong; three daughters -- Lena Walsh and husband, Marty of Mountain Grove, Mo., Joanie Tullos and husband, Jerry and Neasha Smith and husband, Buck of Koshkonong; one daughter-in-law, Donna Billingsley of Kosh-konong; eight grandchildren -- Shikara Walsh, Desiree Smith, Colton Tullos, Bradon Baker, Emerald Tullos, Shiphra Walsh, Jade Smith and Timothy Earnest Walsh; two sisters -- Pat Thrift of Koshkonong and Mildred Spradlin of Searcy, Ark.; an adopted sister, Mary Montgom-ery and husband, Cliff of West Plains; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Alex and one brother, Lester Harris.
The funeral was July 28 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, with Rev. Paul Brewer officiating. Burial was in the Billingsley Family Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer.
