James W. Wilson, 82, of Horseshoe Bend passed away April 9, 2005, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark.
Wilson was born July 6, 1922, in Little Rock, the son of Samuel Wayne Wilson and Hattie Felton Wilson. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II as an MP. He worked many years as a police officer in Texas before retiring and moving to Horseshoe Bend. He was a member of the Horseshoe Bend Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Geneva Brooks of Horseshoe Bend; two sisters -- Gussie Kilman of Rogers, Ark., and Carolyn Hammer of Mesqurio, N.M.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Louise Wilson; and one brother, Bill Wilson.
Graveside services were held April 11 at the Evening Shadows Memorial Park in Horseshoe Bend, Ark. Rev. Leonard Smith officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
