Verna Mae Trolinger, 62, of Cassville, Mo., died Jan. 12, 2004, at her home in Cassville.
Born May 8, 1941, in Graham County, Kan., she was the daughter of Richard Paul and Stella Daisy Burgess Butcher.
On Feb. 5, 1958, in Kansas, she married Norman Leroy Doublin and to this union five children were born.
On June 24, 1987, in Cassville, Mo., she married Donnie E. Trolinger.
Verna and Norman moved from Kansas to Missouri to make their home and then on to Arkansas in 1964, to be closer to family. Verna was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family, quilting and arts and crafts. In 1997, Verna and Donnie moved to Salem, Ark., to care for her mother-in-law in Washburn, Mo. Following Donnie's death, Verna moved to Cassville three and a half years ago.
She was an Oats Bus volunteer and a member of the Baptist denomination. Verna was a fan of Elvis Presley and collected Elvis' memorabilia.
Survivors include a son, Jim Doublin and his wife, Shirley, of Viola, Ark.; two daughters -- Debra Singleton of Fort Gibson, Okla., and Tammy Cunningham and her husband, David, of Camp;, two step-sons -- Denny Trolinger and his wife, Karen, of Brandsville, Mo., and Donald Trolinger and his wife, Annette, of Marmaduke, Ark.; one step-daughter, Jeanette Grehan and her husband, Danny, of Horn Lake, Miss.; three sisters -- Elma Richardson of Edwardsville, Kan., Linda Wintholz of Sidney, Neb., and Vivian Berryhill of Luray, Kan.; nine grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two daughters -- Cindy Lynn Doublin and Patricia Ann "Patty" Morris; and a son-in-law, Sap Singleton.
The funeral was Jan. 14, 2004 in Cassville, Mo.
