Margaret "Maggie" Ethel Moody, 104, of Batesville, Ark., died Sept. 10, 2004, at Rolling Hills Nursing Center at Batesville.
Born on Aug. 22, 1900, at Calico Rock, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Martin Albert and Rhoda Ann Thomas Smith.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church north of Calico Rock, Ark.
Survivors include three sons -- Myrlice Moody, LaVaughn Moody and Vaughn Moody, all of Batesville; two daughters -- Ruby Dale of Batesville, Ida Lee of Witts Springs, and Betty Jo Riley Duncan who was the same as one of her daughter a brother, Troy Smith of Needles, Calif.; three sisters -- Nicie Smith of Batesville. Eunice Billingsley of Tuckerman, and Euna Belle Stephens of Rock Island, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Moody; a daughter; two brothers; two sisters; a granddaughter; a grandson; and three great-grandsons.
The funeral service was Sept. 14 at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Charles Crowson officiating. Burial followed in Lee's Chapel Cemetery east of Batesville with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Fulbright, John Rounds Jr., Steve Moody, Terry Moody, David Lee and Charles Jordan.
Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
