Leota Marie DuBois, 76, was born June 29, 1928, in Kirwin, Kan., the daughter of the late Herbert Gaines and A. Marie Stroup Gaines.
She died Sept. 6, 2004, in Thayer, Mo.
She was united in marriage Dec. 17, 1949, to Wesley Dubois.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley DuBois of the home in Thayer, Mo.; two sons -- Richard DuBois of Hillsboro, Mo., and Darrel DuBois and special friend, Deborah Ayearst, of Mammoth Spring, Ark.; six grandchildren -- Kay, Link, Erica, Richard, Aaron and Shaina; a great-grandchild, Morgan; four brothers -- Herbert Gaines Jr. and wife, Eva Bell, of Mammoth Spring, Clayton Gaines and wife, Roberta, of Thayer, Ray Gaines of Provo, Utah, and Victor Gaines and wife, Julie, of Scranton, Kan.; and four sisters -- Martha East of Boise, Idaho, Lois Atkins and husband, Cliff, of Riverton, Iowa, Mae Dailey and husband, Robert, of Thayer, and Myrtle Sorrell and husband, Thomas, of Thayer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers -- Charles Kenneth and Gordon Gaines.
The funeral service was held Sept. 11 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Dale Skiles officiating.
Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer, Mo.
