Dorothy Louise Koontz, 77, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died March 3, 2004, at her residence.
Born July 1, 1926, in Chicago, she was the daughter of Arthur Thorson and Jenny Olson Thorson. She married George Edward Koontz in September of 1954 in Illinois.
She was retired from the office of Beakins Van Lines in Hillside, Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Koontz moved to Cherokee Village in 1987 from Illinois. She was of the Church of God belief.
Survivors include her husband, George Edward Koontz of the home; four sons -- Robert Earl Koontz Hall and wife, Jan, of California James Edward Koontz Hall and wife, Maryanne, of California, William Brice Koontz of Madison, Mo., and Philip Bradley Koontz and wife, Carla, of Clarence; two daughters -- Andrea Lee Sullivan and husband, Paul, of Clarence and Ruth Elizabeth Nutzhorn and husband, Art, of Downersgrove, Ill.; 27 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was March 5 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel with the Rev. Art Nutzhorn and the Rev. Bob Nutzhorn officiating.
Burial followed in Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland, Ark.
