Helen Glendale Rhea, 79, of Allen, Texas, formerly of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late Gordon Houston and Iris Virginia Burns Rowden was born June 20, 1924, a Oxford, Ark. She died Jan. 29, 2004, in McKenney, Texas.
She married Edmond George Rhea July 4, 1942, at Salem, and to this union two daughters were born. She spent her working years as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a homemaker. She was a member of Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters -- Linda Bogir of Allen, Texas, and Delaina Rhea of Plano, Texas; sisters -- Jimmie Lee Whiteaker of Calico Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren -- Charla, Charles, Allie and Elizabeth Bogir; one great-grandson, Matthew Bogir.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
The funeral was Feb. 1 at Salem Cumberland Presbyter-ian Church with Bobby Coleman officiating. Interment was in Salem Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home at Salem.
Pallbearers were Willie Thomason, Rex Whiteaker, Charles Bogir, Jason Estes, Jeff Whiteaker, Lance Whiteaker and Jesse Whiteaker.
