Tressie Lee Lawson, 77, of Cave City died March 16, 2004, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Born May 4, 1926, at Zion, she was the daughter of Jonathan Thomas and Clara Elizabeth Abbott Birmingham. She worked many years as a nurse's assistant, was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ, and attended the Levy Church of Christ in North Little Rock before attending the Cave City Church of Christ for many years.
Survivors include five sons -- Wayne Cruse of Mablevale, Johnny Cruse and David Lawson, both of Strawberry, Donnie Cruse and Tony Lawson, both of Russellville; three step-sons -- Billy Lawson of Smithville, Terry Lawson of Lynn and Gary Lawson of Eaton; two daughters -- Elva Holder of Saffell and Judy McGee of Keller, Texas; a step-daughter -- Kay Sisk of Walnut Ridge; a brother, Carl Birmingham of Straw-berry; two sisters -- Dessie Long of Galveston, Texas, and Eula Mae Huskey of Saffell; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Henry Ford Lawson; two brothers -- Carroll Birmingham and an infant brother; five sisters -- Bessie Birmingham, Pauline Lisk, Audrey Lambert, Velma Clemons and Thelma Phillips; a great-granddaughter, Tayelor Allison Huskey; and a great-grandson, Sean Michael Cruse.
The funeral was March 19, at Cave City Church of Christ with Dean Fugett officiating. Burial followed in Old Lebanon Cemetery located at Eaton, near Lynn, with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
