Born 5-31-1941 -- Died 3-17-2004
Richard Delbert Braswell, son of the late Barney D. Braswell and Bernice Whitten Braswell, was born may 31, 1941, in Alton,, Mo., and died march 17, 2004, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 62 years.
He was united in marriage Dec. 29, 1974, in Alton to Sue White.
He was a veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam Era. He was a clerk typist at the Pentagon from Dec. 6, 1963 through Dec. 3, 1965. He was a farmer and rural mail carrier for many years and enjoyed arrowhead hunting and fishing. He was a devoted husband, father ad brother and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, sue, of the home in Alton; a son, Jeffrey Braswell of Alton, Mo.; a daughter, Jessica Braswell of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Catherine Wallace and husband, Wes, of Houston, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Linda Howell and husband, Ronnie, of Thomasville, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Kenneth White and wife, Violet, of Birch Tree, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; great- nieces and nephews; and a special great-nephew, Brady Howell, whom he and Sue baby sat. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service was March 20 at Hickory Grove Cemetery at Alton, with the Rev. Junior Andrews officiating. Burial was in Hickory Grove Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer, Mo.
Pallbearers were Dewey Parrott, Joe Cockman, Don Johnson, Mark Barton, Wayne Wright and Bob Wright.
