2AA-North hardwood honors handed out

The 2AA-North All-Conference teams were announced last week. The teams were selected by voting from conference coaches. Results of those votes:

Senior girls

Kristen Teague and Jackie Wommack, Melbourne; Ashley Smith, Heather Bales and Stephanie Barker, Salem; Reannon Nave and Whitney Herron, Calico Rock; Ann Whiteside, Madison Busch and Maggie Harrell, Mammoth Spring; Mandy Haney and Lauren Cunningham, ICC; Tessa Blansett, Cody Adams and Felecia Baldridge, Sloan-Hendrix.

Salem's Ashley Smith and Mandy Haney from ICC were also named All-State Players.

Smith, Haney, Teague, Baldridge and Bales were all nominated to take part in the All-Star game slated for Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville this summer.

The Arkansas Activities Association will announce the rosters for those games this spring.

Mammoth Spring's Crystal Martin Dern was named Coach of the Year. She was also nominated as an All-Star coach.

Senior boys

Cody Moser, Hunter Caraway, Levi Taylor and Jordan Davidson, Melbourne; Justin Howell and Robbie Hurtt, Salem; Scottie Sanders, Calico Rock; Robert Stephens, Jesse Dockins and Justin Burns, ICC; Wesley Whiteside, Seth Risner and Adam Brown, Mammoth Spring; Matt Wilson and Mitchell Wilson, Sloan-Hendrix.

Melbourne's Jordan Davidson and Levi Taylor were named All-State Players, and Bearkatz Head Coach Mike Watson was named Coach of the Year.

All-Star nominations on the boys' side includes: Davidson, Taylor, Risner, Sanders and Matt Wilson. Watson was nominated for All-Star coach.

Junior girls

Sammi Fowler and Leathyr Spangler, ICC; Olivia Morris and Abbie Cooper, Melbourne; Brittany Richardson, Lairen Hall and Hassi Bray, Salem; Ashton Lester and Jessica Sanders, Calico Rock; Courtney Risner and Kayly Vest, Mammoth Spring; Amanda Green, Katelyn Morris and Tonya Dotson, Sloan-Hendrix.

Casey Scribner of Salem was tabbed as Coach of the Year.

Junior boys

Chase Moser, B.J. Gillaspie and Jessie Jenkins, Melbourne; Derek Estes, Lance Powell and Jeff Nelson, Salem; Adam Green and Jonathan Moss, Calico Rock; James Morgan, Kyle McCandlis, Adam Montgomery and Michael Martin, ICC; Cory Baldridge and Patrick Pressler, Sloan-Hendrix.

ICC junior Cougar coach David Harmon was selected Coach of the Year.
