David A. Noyes Sr., 67, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died March 10, 2004 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. He was born Dec. 20, 1936, in Chicago, the son of Thelma Monroe and James Noyes. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years. During his service, he served on the Carrier USS Ranger in the Vietnam War. He married on Dec. 27, 1958, in St. Louis.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Noyes; two sons -- David A. and Mary Noyes Jr. of Hot Springs, and Steven and Cindy Noyes of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters -- Tina and Jim Chamblis of Jacksonville, Fla., Carolyn and Ritch Maybry of Jacksonville, Fla.; a grandson, Kenny Wells of Jackson-ville, Fla.; four brothers, Jack Ward of Michigan, Daniel Noyes of Springfield, Mo., Phillip Monroe of Springfield, and Mike Ward of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Noyes.
The funeral service was March 18 at Cherokee Village Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village with The Rev. Joan Ewaldsen officiating. Burial was in the Cherokee Village Lutheran Columbarium. Arrangements were by Heath Funeral Home, of Hardy.
