Combs ends Run with the Pros in first place

West Plains Civic Center was host to PRCA Rodeo action April 2 and 3.

In conjunction with the rodeo, Pearson Ranch of Gainesville sponsored a "Run with the Pros" that featured events for age 18-and-under cowboys and cowgirls in several divisions.

Adam Combs of Myrtle took top honors April 3 in the calf roping division.

Combs roped and tied his calf in 12.1 seconds. He received an engraved Montana silver belt for his efforts.

Combs has competed in rodeos all over the state of Missouri as a member of the Missouri High School Rodeo Association for the past three years.

Combs and his partner, Brad Orahood, are presently seated fifth in the state rankings in the team roping division.

Combs is the son of Jed and Teresa Combs. He participates in basketball, FFA, NHS and FCCLA at Couch High School, and is a member of the Delhalf Church of Christ.
