Balogh turns 90

Thursday, April 29, 2004

Cherokee Village resident John Balogh, aka "Johnnie B," the Arkansas Dutchman, celebrated his 90th birthday April 22 with family and friends from near and far at Joey T's Restaurant at the Elks' Lodge.

All three of Johnnie's children joined in the celebration, including his daughter and son-in-law, "Toots" and Don Walz of Cherokee Village. Visiting from Wisconsin for the special occasion were John Jr. and his wife, Mary Ellen, son Roger Balogh, and granddaughter, Kathy Rice.

Balogh is well known in Cherokee Village for his volunteer work, playing the accordion at various functions, and as a member of the Eastern Ozarks Community Band.
