Leonard Max DuBois, Arcata, Calif., passed away on Aug. 17, 2004 at the home of his son, Ralph DuBois and family at McKinleyville, Calif.
He was born in Thayer, Mo., on Aug. 24, 1928, to Com and Vira DuBois.
After graduating from Thayer High School he joined the army.
Soon after leaving the service, he went to work for Armour Meat Company in California, where he spent most of his working career. Max had a great sense of humor and loved fishing, hunting and golf.
He is survived by his son, Ralph, Laura and five children; two sisters, Rosemary Holt, of Russellville, Ark. and Katherine (Kay) Van Train, of Heber Springs, Ark.; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Preceding him in death, were his parents; a sister, Doris Griffith, of Thayer; a brother, Del DuBois, of San Francisco, Calif.; and a brother, Rex, of Boise, Idaho.
A memorial service will be held at the Thayer Cemetery on Sept. 11 at 11:30 a.m. at the gravesite of his parents, Com & Vira DuBois.
