KOSHKONONG -- It was a bright, warm day this summer when Koshkonong FFA member Shane Adair departed to go to Warrensberg, Mo., to attend the 2004 FFA Public Speaking Academy. The academy was three days of intensive training in public speaking this summer. Adair reports it was a full house of 250 FFA members from throughout the state of Missouri who attended. Each student received training in writing, preparing and presenting speeches. They were also instructed on the different approaches, styles and techniques of giving public speeches.
Students were required to write and practice their speeches as well as give their speeches in front of peers and instructors for competition.
Adair is this year's Koshkonong FFA vice president, and he is interested in a career in agricultural communications and possibly a career as an agriculture educator.
