Desi Leon Jones, of Mountain Home, Ark., son of Desmond Leon Jones and the late Nora Fay Sanders Jones, was born Jan. 24, 1963, in Salem, Ark. He died Aug. 31, 2004, at Springfield, Mo., at the age of 41 years, 7 months and 7 days.
He was united in marriage to Angela Jean Teague on Feb. 28, 1987, at Salem, and to this union two children were born. He was a devoted husband, and father and worked for North Arkansas Electric Cooperative Inc., as a line foreman.
Jones graduated from Salem High School in 1981. He loved hunting, horses and outdoor life. He was a God-fearing honest man who was a member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Jean Jones of the home; a son, Raleigh Jones of the home; a daughter, Madison Jones of the home; his father, Leon Jones of Salem; a sister, Roxanne Crow and husband, Bill, of Viola; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Barton and Betty Teague of Salem; two nieces -- Maranda Pingel and husband, Charles of Walnut Ridge, and Makenzie Crow of Viola; a nephew, Morgan Crow of Viola; one great-nephew, Ethan Pingel of Walnut Ridge; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nora Fay Jones; an infant brother, Rocky Leon Jones; and a niece, Marissa Crow.
The funeral was Sept. 3 at Salem First Baptist Church with Bro. John Hodges and Dr. James Hoffpauir officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Calm Cemetery at Viola with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Randal McCoy, Randy Mooney, Vanis Davidson, David Martin, Dennis Barker, and Jason Crownover.
Honorary pallbearers were Hugh McClain, J.R. Martin, Shannon Bassham, Delvin Freeman, Wayne Blasi and Bob Crider.
Memorials preferred to a trust fund for his children established at the First National Bank in Mountain Home, Ark.
