Nellie Elnora Isom, daughter of the late Mac and Ida Jane Harbor Sullins, was born July 10, 1904, in Wild Cherry, Ark. She died Nov. 25, 2003, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould at the age of 99.
She was united in marriage to Hoyd Ray Isom on May 22, 1921, at Wild Cherry. To this union ten children were born. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. Survivors include her children -- Ann Malone of Senath, Mo., Wayne Isom of South Haven, Miss., Shirley Johnson of Alagin, Mich., Randall Isom of Atkins, Ark., and Ricky Isom of Fort Smith, Ark.; two brothers -- Joe Sullins of Bangor, Mich., and Johnson Sullins of Jonesboro; 33 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 36 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; five sons -- Randolph, Ray, Jesse, Dub and Junior Isom; four sisters -- Zola Lee, Kate Sears, Lola Johnson and Zela Isom; one brother, Aaron Sullins and her father and mother.
Services were Nov. 29 at Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem. Burial was in the Flora Cemetery near Viola with arrangements by Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
