Girls Night Out set in Horseshoe Bend

Hosted by Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and underwritten by Dr. Mary Wren, "Girls Night Out" will feature a free talk by Dr. L. Jane McKinnon, cardiovascular surgeon who is on active staff at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Dr. McKinnon will discuss "Women's Heart Health" May 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Hillhigh Resort & Spa in Horseshoe Bend.

Refreshments and additional health and wellness information also will be provided. A blood sugar and cholesterol test will be offered for $10. Thanks to Murl Haggerty, The Grapevine, Wal-Mart, The Interior, The Women's Center, Lumbert's Beauty Supply and Salon, KBCN 104.3 and KMAC 99.7, several door prizes will be given away.

"Girls Night Out" is sponsored by the BRMC Women's Health Advisory Board. This free outreach program is part of the mission of board members, said Mary R. Wren, M.D., FACOG, an obstetrician/gynecologist who is on active staff at Baxter Regional Medical Center. "Helping women understand and balance their health needs while caring for their families is our board's vision," Wren said.
