Graveside funeral services for Bertha Leona Johnson, 86, of Thayer, Mo., were held Sept. 15, with Erman Cronie officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, Mo.
She was the daughter of the late Ivens Perry Prewitt and Mary Modena James Prewitt, on Dec. 18, 1917, in Ravenden, Ark., and died Sept. 14, 2004, inThayer.
She was united in marriage Sept. 9, 1944 in Hardy, Ark. to Ned C. Johnson.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Ned of the home in Thayer; one daughter, Marilyn Criger, and husband, Kenneth, of Straton, Neb.; two sons -- Perry Johnson of Montana, and Bobby Johnson and wife, Judy, of Montana; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Prewitt and wife, Dorothy, of Thayer; four sisters -- Iva Chloe Porter of Mansfield, Mo., Edith Brown of Thayer, Thelma Smotherman of Thayer and Mary Lou Osterbuhr of Thayer and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Johonson; two brothers -- Elmer and Perry Prewitt; and a sister, Ethel Prewitt Busch.
Burial was in the Taylor Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Paragould Childens Home and left at the funeral home.
