Ruby Belle Walling, 89, of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Ida Bell Lynch Blevins, was born Jan. 26, 1915, in Union, Ark. She died Oct. 30, 2004, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem. She married Ponder Richard Walling on April 3, 1937, at Salem.
She, along with her husband, ran the family farm, and for many years was employed by Salem School District as a cook. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sons -- George (Kathaleen) Walling of Salem, and Jackie (Helen) Walling of Camp; four grandchildren -- Wade (Cheryl) Walling, Gary Walling, Shawn (Shelly) Walling and Shawna (Jeff) Walling-Webb; nine great-grandchildren -- Katrina McIntosh, Josh Walling, Kaylea and Cassidy Walling, Britteny Dodd, Caleb, Alex and Jake and Bailey Walling; two great-grandchildren -- Kissandra Dodd and Ryder Wade Walling.
She was preceded in death by her husband in1970; a granddaughter, Sherry Walling; seven brothers -- Homer Lee, Henry, Steve, Glen, Lindall and Arthur Blevins; six sisters -- Mamie Mitchell, Julia French, Nettie Langston, Bessie Blevins, Omer Tanner and one who died in infancy; and her parents.
The funeral was Nov. 1 at Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem with burial in Harmony Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home, of Salem.
