Mildred K. Field Sears, 83, of Pleasant Hill, Mo., daughter of the late James Forest and Emily Desta Chesnut Field, was born Aug. 3, 1921, at Byron, Ark. she died Oct. 27, 2004, at Jefferson Health Care in Lee's Summit, Mo.
She married Wendell F. Sears Feb. 3, 1942, in North Kansas City, Mo. To this union three children were born. She spent her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and 23 of her working years were with Russell Stover Candies. She was a member of Salem First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons -- Don F. Sears and wife, Marsha, of Pleasant Hill, Mo. and John P. Sears and wife, Mary, of Bucyrus, Kan.; a daughter, JoAnn Wright and husband, Allen of Lee's Summit; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four sisters -- Jimmie Sears, Eva Lee Estes, Eva Gene Spence and Clara Gammon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell; parents; brothers, Fred Field; and six sisters -- Ima Field, Bessie Neal, Vida Copeland, Wilma Beach, Mary Raymond and Jane Ricketts.
The funeral was Oct. 30 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with John Hodges officiating. Interment was in Salem Ceme-tery with arrangements by Barker Funeral Home in Salem.
Pallbearers were Don Sears Jr., John Sears Jr., Jeff Wright, Greg Wright, Christopher Wright, Jeremy Thies and Jim Newman.
