TROOP G -- Captain B.E. Chadwick, commanding officer with Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, has released the accident totals for the month of June in the nine- county Troop G area.
In Oregon County, there were 10 accidents that resulted in five people reporting injuries and no fatalities.
Howell County was the high accident county during June 2002 with 43 accidents investigated by Troop G officers. Twenty-eight people reported injuries and three deaths occurred due to those accidents.
The remaining Troop G counties reported the following accident information: Carter -- 15 accidents, one death, 10 people injured; Douglas -- 14 accidents, no deaths, 10 injuries; Ozark -- 18 accidents, one death, 10 injuries; Reynolds -- 11 accidents, one death, eight injuries; Shannon -- 14 accidents, no deaths, seven injuries; Texas -- 29 accidents, no deaths and 17 people injured as a result of those accidents; Wright -- 11 accidents, no fatalities, nine injuries.
Troop G officers reported six fatalities as a result of accidents in the Troop G area in June. They investigated a total of 165 accidents, and 106 people reported injuries.
During the first six months of 2002, 877 accidents were investigated by Troop G officers. Twenty-seven deaths were reported as a result of those accidents and 499 people were injured.
During the same time period last year 792 accidents were reported, 27 deaths, and 525 people were injured.
