Avis Earlene Rogers Bobbitt, 87, daughter of the late Owther Lee and Dorothy May Moser Rogers was born on Aug. 16, 1916, in Wiseman, Ark. She died on March 29, 2004, in Batesville, Ark. She married L.A. Bobbit March 15, 1946, in Izard County, Ark., and to this union three children were born. She spent her years as a homemaker, housewife, mother and grandmother. She attended the Guion Church of Christ.
Survivors included two daughters and a son-in-law -- Sue and Don Forbes of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Gerri Engles of Batesville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law -- Jack and Della Feil of Wenatchee, Wash., Evelyn and Forrest Bons of Williamsburg, Kan., and Anna Lee Hailey of Wiseman, Ark.; three grandchildren -- Eric Forbes of San Diego, Tonya Grimm and husband, Douglas, of San Antonio, and Brandie Engles of Batesville; and two great-grandchildren -- Megan and Mitchell Grimm of San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a son, Greg Bobbit.
The funeral was March 31 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel with Larry Sellars officiating. Burial was at Reeves Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne, Ark.
Pallbearers were Son Lamb, Howard, Lamb, Fred Lamb, Ronnie Adkisson, Wayne Lee and Carroll Manry.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Engles, Dick Williamson, Howard Moser, Shelby Upton and Elvin Arnold.
