Glen Gordon Horton, 81, of Ash Flat, died Dec. 13, 2003, in Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born in Ash Flat, Ark., July 16, 1922, he was the son of Alton and Emma Crystal King Horton. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific and belonged to the Disabled Veterans Association, the Highland Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of Agnos Church of Christ. He also worked for Boeing Air Craft Corporation as a Security Officer.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Crawford Horton of Ash Flat; four sons -- Dennis Horton of Thayer, Mo., Stanley E. Horton of Farmington, Ark., and Stacy Horton and Cody Horton both of Ash Flat; three daughters --Donna Marie Reeves of Searcy, Elizabeth Diane Harris of Wynne and Shannon Horton of Hardy; three brothers -- Dinzel Horton of Wenatchee, Wash., and Bill Horton and Jim Horton both of Ash Flat. 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, and four sisters.
The funeral was Dec. 16 at the Agnos Church of Christ with Jack Richardson and Jim Reeves officiating. Burial followed in Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat with arrangements under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel Funeral Services Inc. of Hardy.
Pallbearers were David Harris, Chad Horton, Danie Harris, Josh Horton, James Reeves and Cody Horton.
Honorary pallbearers were Scott Horton, Jack Horton, Lee Harris Auston Merriman and Park Horton.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Eastern Ozarks Regional Hospital.
