Wanda Lee Williams Weathers, 82, of Salem, daughter of the late Joe and Gertrude Burns Williams was born April 21, 1921, in Springfield, Mo. She died Dec. 16, 2003 at Salem, Ark.
She married Gaston Leon "Dick" Weathers Feb. 5, 1938, at Hardy, Ark., and to this union two sons were born. She spent her working years as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker, and a business owner of Western Auto. She was a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was member of the Methodist Women and Order of Eastern Star-Salem Lodge 521.
Survivors include two sons -- Jim Weathers and wife, Dean, of Salem, and Dr. Larry Weathers and wife, Kay, of Searcy, Ark.; six grandchildren -- Shanda Hardin and husband, Gary of Salem, Tori Weathers of Searcy, David Weathers of Columbia, Mo., Dr. Lance Weathers and wife, Natalie, of New York City; Kevin Weathers of Jonesboro; and Dr. Tiffany Weathers of Buffalo, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren -- Hunter Hardin of Salem and Devan Weathers of Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Tressie Baker; four half-sisters -- Faye Fletcher, Gladys Bell, Bernice Chadwick and Willie Ray Fry; and a half-brother, Troy Williams.
The funeral was Dec. 18 at Salem United Methodist Church with Doug Criss and John Hodges officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery with arrangements by Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Mel Coleman, Hans Oliver, Johnny Hammond, Ted Land, Dwayne Plumlee and Mike Webber.
Memorials preferred to Salem United Methodist Church Building Fund.
