Alton HS ranks in Top 10

ALTON -- Alton High School Principal Ed Czerwonka said schools are constantly challenged to perform better. He said this includes administrators, teachers and students.In reviewing the date from the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP), the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has identified school buildings with the largest net increase in the combined percentage of students scoring proficient or advanced on the mathematics, communication arts, science and social studies assessments."The Missouri Department of Elementary and secondary Education has recognized Alton High School as being in the Top 10 "most improved" for increasing the combined percentage of students scoring in the proficient and advanced categories in science, grade 10, and social studies, grade 11," the principal said."Our teachers and staff are proud of the hard work and effort put forth by our students to obtain this status and exemplify great pride in our schools. Congratulations are in order for such an accomplishment for students, staff and teachers," he said.
