Ralph King Jackson was born June 13, 1923, in Thayer, Mo., the son of the late Benjamin F. Jackson and Emma Matilda Vogan Jackson. He died July 29, 2007, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 84.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. While serving his country, he earned the rank of Technician Fourth Grade and received numerous awards and citations for service rendered.
He was a member of the Vincent-Langston-Lunn VFW Post 7831 in Mammoth spring. he was a retired machinist and was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by: his wife, Lucille of the family home in Thayer, Mo.; one daughter, Linda Turner of Hideaway, Texas; one son, Stephen Jackson and wife, Susan of Springfield, Mo.; two granddaughters, Sarah Jackson and Ashlee Jackson of Springfield, Mo.; four step-grandsons, Michael, Mathew, Mark and Marty Turner; nine step-great-grandsons; one step-great-granddaughter; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Aug. 1 at the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer with Rev. Jim Doyle officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
